Family Friendly Confession for July 16 is cancelled and will resume in August on the third Saturday of the month.
Sometimes described as “Draino for the soul,” confession can cleanse you from what ails you, lift your burdens and help you to experience newfound freedom in many areas of your life. Come experience it for yourself!
Family-Friendly Confession will take place the third Saturday of each month from 9-10a in the Parish Center (behind the Church at 17400 Northwood Ave.). Open to anyone, this Confession time allows those with young children to receive the Sacrament in peace while other families watch their children. Families often pray the Rosary together or just build community. The Sacrament can be received face to face or behind a screen.
While it is one of the Six Precepts of the Church for Catholics to make a good Confession at least once a year, here are just some of the benefits of receiving the Sacrament more frequently according to Pope Pius XII in Mystici Corporis Christi:
genuine self-knowledge is increased,
Christian humility grows,
bad habits are corrected,
spiritual neglect and tepidity are resisted,
the conscience is purified,
the will strengthened,
a salutary self-control is attained,
grace is increased in virtue of the sacrament itself.
