Praesidium - Called to Protect program

The Called to Protect program supports the ongoing efforts of the Diocese of Cleveland to provide training for adults and children in matters of protection from abuse and creation of safe environments.

Called to Protect is a multi media training program created by Praesidium, a national leader in risk management. The Called to Protect series presents current abuse prevention information to parents, children, youth and young adults.

Called to Protect for Youth

Teaches middle school and high school aged students about boundaries, how to respond if someone tries to violate their boundaries, and how to tell their parents if they or their friend have been abused. The Called to Protect for Youth program will take place in two parts:

Part I on Tuesday, October 8, 7:00 pm-8:30 pm Part II on Tuesday, October 15, 7:00 pm-8:30 pm

Both meetings take place at Saint Clement Rectory. Parents are asked to attend with their student. If you have attended this meeting in the past, it is not necessary to attend again. Please RSVP by Oct 7.

Called to Protect for Young Children

Teaches age-appropriate information to children in elementary school. The students will learn rules about protecting their bodies and what to do if someone tries to break the rules. The content and teaching methods use the latest child development research to ensure their effectiveness. The Called to Protect for Young Children is offered to families annually in the course of the Family Parish School of Religion program.

Called to Protect for Parents and Families

Teaches parents what to watch for and the actions to take if they see something of concern. They also learn how to begin to communicate with their children about their bodies and how to keep them safe. The Called to Protect for Parents and Families meeting for parents will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 7:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Saint Clement Parish Hall. This meeting is designed for parents who are not familiar with the Diocesan program. If you have attended this meeting in the past, it is not necessary to attend again. Please RSVP by September 30.
